6th Grade

In the 6th grade we are constantly discussing how our work in middle school and high school can prepare us for higher education. Throughout the year, we have been making real world connections with our curriculum, so that students understand how they can use the skills they are developing outside the classroom. The students are setting their goals high as they study and prepare for their bright futures. We participate in frequent goal setting, personal inspection, constant class discussions and collaboration, and other higher-level thinking activities.

Starting middle school often means that the students encounter new life choices and changes. We emphasize personal responsibility at every opportunity, and we focus on power words such as POSITIVITY, PREPARED, POLITE, PRAISE, and PARTICIPATE.
