Welcome to 4th grade!

Welcome to Grade 4! Our mission is to learn, pray, love!  Here in our colorful and creative classroom students are busy learning about California History and the missions, long division and fractions, rocks, minerals and magnets. We learn a new poem every week and students read aloud daily in a program we call “Fantastic Fluency.” We love reading! We enjoy reading some wonderful books as a class. Some of our favorites this year are Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Frindle, The Whipping Boy, Island of the Blue Dolphins, and The Tale of Despereaux.

With our third grade friends, we visit Knott’s Berry Farm to experience early California history (and the log ride!)  (see pictures below!) as well as visit a California mission and local California ranches.

For the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Grade 4 help celebrate by organizing and encouraging our St. Pancratius community to bring in food, treats and toys for pets. We donate boxes and boxes of goodies to SEAACA and Long Beach Animal Shelters.
